Lilead Fellow Jennifer Sturge Talks Media Literacy in New Blog

Lilead Fellow Jennifer Sturge has posted the first entry in her new blog, titled “Kindergarten and Media Literacy: Using PBS’ ‘Arthur’ to Start the Conversation.”  The blog is featured in Programming Librarian.  In her first post, Jennifer discusses the importance of teaching media literacy and how PBS is making it a little easier.  She discusses PBS’s efforts to use the show ‘Arthur’ as a way to teach young children information literacy.  Each lesson comes with guides for librarians to help them connect the lessons with other curriculum areas like social studies and math.

You can look for a new post from Jennifer and Donna Mignardi every month through the rest of 2018. Read their first post here: http://www.programminglibrarian.org/blog/kindergarten-and-media-literacy-using-pbs-arthur-start-conversation
