A former middle and high school English teacher, Stephie Luyt’s current role as Elementary Teacher Librarian includes coordinating programming and professional development for twelve elementary libraries. Stephie works to bring creative STEM learning opportunities to students through dedicated Makerspaces, circulating STEM kits as part of the library collection and everything in between. A Google Certified Educator, Stephie facilitates GAFE training for teachers and serves on the planning team for Wired, a regional educational technology conference in northern Michigan. Stephie is passionate about increasing digital citizenship education, which she works to infuse through curricular initiatives, parent learning opportunities and community events. Above all, she believes in the power of books to change lives.
