Albuquerque Public Schools
Rachel Altobelli is the Director of Library Services and Instructional Materials for the Albuquerque Public Schools. She is currently the Chair of the NM State Library’s LSTA Advisory Committee and is the former Chair of the NM Advocacy for School Libraries Special Interest Group, a sub-group of the state library association. Prior to her work with school libraries, Rachel was the Technical Services Librarian at Central New Mexico Community College and a solo librarian for an art school. Rachel believes that teacher-librarians are an integral part of preparing students for the complex and technology-rich world they already inhabit. Consequently, she hopes to spend her time in the Lilead project helping teacher-librarians become leaders in transforming student learning, and using project-based learning and appropriate technological tools.
