2015-2016 Lilead Fellow Mary Keeling, Supervisor of Library Media Services in Newport News, VA, has recently shared news of a massive win for school libraries!

After several months of logistical meetings with county officials, she has formally started a project to remodel one of many elementary school media centers in her district. This remodel will include expanding the library, adding a makerspace(!), new furniture, and an entire suite of the most up-to-date technology available. In addition, this renovation will act as the model for the rest of the elementary school libraries in the district.
