Beaverton School District
Jenny Takeda is a District Librarian for the Beaverton School District, the third largest school district in Oregon with nearly 41,000 students and growing to 53 schools in 2017-18. After working as an elementary Teacher-Librarian, Jenny embarked upon leadership work at the district level in 2003. The Library Services team of three District Librarians provides leadership, professional development, and support for over 80 library staff and is part of Beaverton’s Instructional Innovation team.
Jenny co-facilitates a Professional Learning Community of District Librarians from the Portland Metro area and is Secretary for the Oregon Association of School Libraries. Jenny has two sons in elementary school and enjoys passing on the love of reading, audiobooks, and the outdoors to them.
