Copley-Fairlawn School District
Fiona Casida has been the K-12 Library and Media Services Coordinator for the Copley-Fairlawn School District for the past 13 years. She began her career in education teaching college writing at Metropolitan State University of Denver, but when she moved to Ohio, she decided to pursue a masters at Kent State University in Instructional Technology with K-12 Library/Media licensure. With an English background, and a love of reading, technology, and helping students, Fiona found working as a library/media coordinator to be the perfect combination. Fiona has presented at professional conferences, served on various committees, and received several honors and grants, but her focus continues to be on serving library staff, teachers, and students. One of Fiona’s top priorities is implementing innovative programs in her district libraries to increase student literacy. She is also looking forward to collaborating with other Lilead Fellows and being part of a group that will have a positive impact on student learning and literacy across the country.
